DAY 1: ARRIVE AT YANGON

Our tour guide and driver will be present at Yangon Internal Airport to welcome you to Myanmar, and then transfer you to the hotel for check-in.

DAY 2: YANGON FULL-DAY SIGHTSEEING TOUR (B)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will start a day with the full-day city sightseeing tour toward Maha Bandula Road. Contemplate the antique Immanuel Baptist Church erected in 1830. Walking east, you will pass by some local food stalls and markets. Then, turn right on Pansodan Road and look for the old books. The top attractions on the way are the High Court Building, Inland Water Transport offices, Myanmar Port Authority building. When you are on the Strand Road, enjoy sightseeing of the famous Strand Hotel, Customs House, Law Court, and other eye-catching colonnaded buildings. The on-foot journey will go on to the boisterous Bank Street and then Sule Pagoda Road in which you can try the fortune teller’s services.

Make it a point to visit the well-known Sule Pagoda that was built more than 2,000 years ago. Next to the venerated monument are the Independence Monument, City Hall, and Maha Bandula Garden. Walking west, and you will approach the chaotic Indian and Chinese quarters. The city sightseeing tour will continue to Shwe Bontha Street with gold shops, the 26th Street with Moseh Yeshua Synagogue, Theingyi Zei snake market, and Anawratha Road with Sri Kali Hindu temple.

The next hours will be spent in the famous Kyauk Htat Gyi Pagoda that gains the reputation for the 70m-long reclining Buddha statue. After the spiritual visit, proceed to the Royal Lake and Kandawgyi Park where is often packed with the Burmese people. As one of the most significant religious centers in Myanmar, Shwedagon is a must to see.

DAY 03: YANGON – FLY TO BAGAN (B)

The enjoyable breakfast time will be followed by a quick drive transfer to Yangon airport for a domestic flight to Bagan. Often dubbed as the world’s largest temple city and one of the greatest architectural areas in Asia, Bagan owns more than 4000 temples and stupas of the 11th – 13th centuries. In the vast plain, the ancient pagodas and temples provide the fantastic vista that is unique in Bagan.

The first monument to discover should always be Ananda Temple – one of the best-preserved and most beautiful temples in Bagan. As expected, you’ll get there prior to the crowd so that the temple sightseeing tour will be enjoyed to the fullest, in a placid atmosphere. There are several outstanding age-old sites around the corners to cherish and learn about the religious architecture of the 9-14th centuries. You are likely to meet the local farmers and families that work amongst the monuments, which provide the real perspectives about rural life in Bagan.

For the cultural experiences, spend time at the local workshops that are dedicated to lacquerwares and wooden items. Observe how the Burmese craftsmen skillfully produce the delicate products in their traditional ways kept from generation to generation.

DAY 04: BAGAN (B)

The breakfast will be served at your hotel. Then, be ready for the full-day Bagan expedition. You will be glad to visit the dynamic Nyaung Oo Market to see how the residents trade their goods on a daily basis. From this spot, roam around the Old Bagan and explore its highlights including the noteworthy 11th-century Shwezigon Pagoda, many temples and monasteries on the tree-shaded roads that leads to the little village. In one of the monasteries, it’s possible to attend a traditional Buddhist ritual if wanted.

Next, experience a horse-cart ride that will pass by the Thatbyinnyu temple (the tallest one in Bagan) and the immense brickwork of Dhammayangyi Temple. Capture the sunset vista over the temple city from the upper terrace, which results in the incredible albums.

DAY 05: BAGAN – FLY TO MANDALAY (B)

You will have breakfast at the hotel, and then get a transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Mandalay. When you are in Mandalay, enjoy the transfer by road to Amarapura – a penultimate royal capital of Myanmar that means “City of Immortality.” Also, pay a visit to Mahagandayon monastery which is a center for the young monks to study monastic life and abide by the strict religious disciplines. The next attraction is Mahamuni Pagoda that enshrines the venerated Buddha status encrusted with gold leaf. Going on, you will stop at the Kyauktawgyi Pagoda with the Great Marble Buddha statue made from a single block of marble. The temple sightseeing tour will also cover the well-known Kuthodaw Pagoda which is often called “The World’s Biggest Book” for the accumulation of 729 marble slabs carved with Buddhism teachings. In the next hours, the beautiful woodcarvings of the golden Shwenandaw Monastery will be in front of you.

In the later afternoon, your target will be the extraordinary U Bein Bridge which was constructed in 1782 and known as the world’s longest teakwood bridge. Built over the shallow Taungthamma Lake, the 1.2km-span bridge offers the enthralling scenery during the sunset when the Burmese residents and monks are heading home. Viewing the sunset in U Bein Bridge is a beautiful thing you should always appreciate.

DAY 06: MANDALAY – MINGUN – SAGAING – MANDALAY (B)

After the breakfast time, you will be taken to Mandalay jetty for a private boat trip on the Irrawaddy River toward Mingun, which might take 1 hour. The top attraction for today is Mingun Paya that is an immense brick construction linked to the mysterious fortune-telling about the collapse due to the earthquake in the 1800s. Ascend to the flat top of the site for a spectacular view of the Hsinbyume Paya, the calm river, and the remote Mingun village. Next, make sure you can contemplate the legendary Mingun Bell whose weight is 90 tons, making it world’s largest hung bell that can still ring. Prior to the voyage back to Mandalay, you will have the precious cultural experiences in the neighboring basketry villages in which the chummy craftsmen and villagers welcome your visit.

Then, you will get to Sagaing in which the 600 ivory-colored monasteries are well-preserved in Sagaing Hill. Popularly known as a spiritual hub that can shelter more than 3,000 monks and 100 meditation shrines, this destination opens the highly venerated atmosphere. Take your time marveling at Swan Oo Pon Nya Shin, U Min ThoneSae and Shin Pin Nan Gyaing. And, to observe the locals’ life activities, the good spots are the market and the pottery village in which you can interact with the Burmese merchants and the skilled craftspeople, to see that they are truly friendly as rumored.

DAY 07: MANDALAY – HEHO – INLE (B)

As scheduled, you will be transferred to the Mandalay airport for a domestic flight to Heho. Upon your arrival, get a drive to Nyaung Shwe village. It is a very scenic and memorable drive that includes some stopovers at the rural workshops dedicated to the traditional Shan paper-making and handcrafted umbrellas. After that, discover the Shweyanpyay teak monastery that preserves the intricate and artistic woodcarvings.

After the temple sightseeing tour, you will embark a private motorboat for a voyage on Inle Lake – one of the most scenic and stunning spots in the country. The beautiful river vista is beautified with the floating gardens, fishing canoes, hills, serene villages, stilted houses, and the Intha indigenous people. You will learn what is called the unique leg-rowing style of the Intha fishermen or the floating vegetation. Thereafter, the voyage will continue to the sacred Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery that enshrines numerous Buddha statues of the early Shan region. You will not miss the lake’s major venue that is Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda known for the five venerated Buddha images encrusted with gold leaf. The marvelous Inle Lake is also famous for the exceptional villages that are specialized in lotus-silk woven items, boat builder, cigar-making, blacksmith, and silversmith. Cruise back to the hotel.

DAY 08: INLE LAKE – INDEIN (B)

This morning, you will be excited to explore the local market, mingle with the Burmese people, and observe their life activities on the spot. A variety of local goods will be present, and if interested, you can do shopping. After that, find joy in the 1-hour boat trip downstream the small canal to reach the charming Pa-Oh village of Indein, nestled on the western sides of Inle Lake. Go for a tour around the hamlet, get the cultural experiences, and take great shots. Then, you’ll be fond of climbing up the moss-packed stairway to the peak of the hill in which the Buddha status has been enshrined amid the stupa ruins and the shrubbery. The serene and stunning panorama from the hilltop is a well-deserved reward for you. Also included in the agenda is the complex of Indein Pagoda that is partly covered with moss and greenery as time passes. Believe it, Inle Lake might be a cradle of the mysterious photo albums that you can be proud to share with the world. Return to the hotel.

DAY 09: HEHO – FLY BACK YANGON (B)

After the breakfast and free time at the hotel until the check-out time, you will take a drive to Heho Airport for the flight back to Yangon city. Upon your arrival, move to the hotel in Yangon to do check-in and enjoy the good rest.
